Letter from the publisher After 33 years of publishing newspapers in our College Way building, Skagit Publishing is ready to move to our new facility. Thirty-three years seems like a long time, but our history and commitment is far longer than that. For 125 years our newspapers have been serving Skagit and surrounding areas. Our new home on Anderson Road represents an ongoing commitment to our readers, our advertisers and our employees. We’ve built this building after surmounting many challenges. Design, permitting and construction have taken 10 years. This building represents a long-term commitment and a belief that we live in a special place and that what we do is more important today than it has ever been. Our product is information. In the information age, we’re going to have what it takes. All new printing and distribution equipment will allow us to produce better newspapers for readers and advertisers alike. New photo and sound studios will allow us to bring better multimedia products to our website, goskagit.com, which is already getting 1,000,000 page views per month. What we do is all about our commitment to the community we serve. Come see for yourself during our open house in early spring. We’ll announce the date once we’re settled. Thank you very much, L.
